About Us

Savvy College Funding Solutions is a full-service college admission and financial aid consulting firm.

We believe that every child with the desire and passion for going to college should be able to do so. These beliefs form our organization’s heart and soul and reflect the core philosophy of Debbie Goldstein, founder of Savvy College Funding Solutions.

Our philosophy is founded on the principle that there is a ‘right college’ for your student. The basis for selecting that college should not rely solely on college rankings, ‘hotlists’ or popularity. Our approach involves researching your student’’ interests, strengths, unique attributes, and talents and matching them to the right college.

Positive: Communication, Professionalism, Quality, Value

Debbie did a brilliant job helping us foreigners understand and navigate the complex US college admissions system. Her background knowledge of how individual colleges assess candidates ensured we targeted applications realistically. And her network of advisers ensured the personal essays ticked all the right boxes for each institution.

Catherine and Hugh Powell,

I can't recommend Debbie enough for all her help. Not only did she save me thousands of dollars - literally - but she's been a trusted and valuable voice of reason through this whole process. You will not be disappointed.

Josh Zeman,

Debbie made the typically overwhelming college application process very smooth and timely. I really appreciated her diligence, consideration, and genuine desire to help me succeed. She is very caring and frequently asks about my family and school life. Debbie is just a pleasure to work with.

An Independent College Advisor supports and adds to your school counselor’s efforts by providing additional, personalized guidance throughout the college admissions and financial aid application process. This can include developing a balanced college list, creating your activity list, preparing you for interviews and college visits, describing the full admissions process to you, and supporting the essay writing and application process. At SCFS, we guide students and their families through every step of the school admissions and financial aid process to help them identify the schools that best meet their academic, social and financial needs. We work with each student to help them portray the best and most comprehensive representation of who they are to the admissions committees of their chosen schools.

SCFS programs for college-bound students typically begin in 10th grade. Our comprehensive counseling programs provide student guidance prior to the start of the application process to ensure they are ready to begin it in the spring of junior year. We encourage students to start the college preparation process as soon as possible, but we are happy to work with students at any point throughout the process. In addition to our comprehensive counseling programs for high school students, we also offer short-term programs for high school seniors and transfer students.

We help students all over the US using Google Hangouts, Skype, phone, or email tools to communicate an work together to help you reach your college goals. SCFS’s online portal makes it easy for families to keep track of the entire process with notes, meeting details, and more, available all in one place. Our Client Relations Team helps ensure a seamless process. All of our students, regardless of location, benefit from our unique methodology and hands-on approach. The students w work with remotely have proven to be equally as successful as students who we meet with in person.

This varies for each student and depends greatly on several important factors, including your student’s academic and personal history and his or her college admissions goals. The first step to begin the SAVVY College Financial Aid Process is setting up an Initial Consultation. Following the Initial Consultation, we will suggest the best program for your student based on his or her grades, goals, and the amount of guidance your child will need. We are happy to customize a program to fit your needs and your budget.
